PA Students Win 2024 National Medical Challenge Bowl Championship
Saint Louis University (SLU) PA students Rebecca Oberkrom, Katie Reddy, and David Shengelia brought home the 2024 National Challenge Bowl championship title at the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) conference on May 20. SLU was also represented by assistant professors Amanda McCormick, MPAS, PA-C and Karen Platt, MMS, PA-C at the conference.
The AAPA National Medical Challenge Bowl is a high-energy medical game show where teams answer multiple choice questions about a variety of subjects, including physical diagnosis, microbiology, OB/GYN, pulmonary, cardiology, primary care, emergency medicine, and surgery. The 36 top-scoring teams advance to the on-stage rounds to answer free response questions on topics ranging from anatomy to psychiatry.
Genevieve Del Rosario, MHS, PA-C, associate professor and director of SLU’s PA program, expressed her excitement about the team’s championship win.
“We are so proud of our students for winning the AAPA National Medical Challenge Bowl! The team beat students from over 90 programs from across the nation. Winning this championship is a testament to the hard work and dedication they have demonstrated during their time in the program.â€
