Research Interests

  • Dr. Ahmad is an Occupational Therapist and Stereologer (a neuroscientist who performs quantitative analysis of brains and neurons) that has been practicing in the field of neurorehabilitation and neuroscience since 1995. He is a Tenured Professor of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, and has practiced in many areas, including Acute Care, Burns and Trauma, and operates a Task Oriented Group (Katamedo  Jujitsu) providing habilitative and rehabilitative, mainstreamed Occupational Therapy services to children and adults with disabilities. His research is in the areas of public health, oxidative stress disorders, exercise and its effects on degenerative diseases, corrections officer health, and education. All the research is guided by the Model of Neuro Occupation, which braids neuroscience and occupational performance. He is a member of the International Society for Stereology (2008) and has been certified by Dr. Peter Mouton to perform stereology (2003) and has worked on 57 studies with the Michael J. Fox Foundation and contracted with multiple Pharmaceutical and Research organizations. He enjoys teaching, and has completed a Carnegie Teaching Fellowship (2002).
