What will my life outside of the classroom be like at SLU?
SLU's Office of International Services will be among the first to welcome you to campus and help you get acclimated to your new home in St. Louis. Our goal is to help make your transition smooth and to provide you with the tools and resources to find your niche, make your impact, and seamlessly become a part of our thriving campus community.
SLU is located in the city of St. Louis, known as "The Gateway City." St. Louis is a large and diverse city with a multitude of amenities, opportunities and resources. You will also find activities both on and off campus to help you explore culture, have fun and meet other students. There are many to explore on your own and activities sponsored by the University.
In addition to sightseeing, shopping and events, you can find all the conveniences you need for day-to-day living. You'll be able to open a bank account, obtain a driver's license, enjoy local restaurants, shop for groceries and find housing.
Members of the University community work to create graduate student activities that take place during the semester as well as when the university is not in session. There is a growing number of graduate student clubs, recreational and cultural activities to help students connect with peers and celebrate global traditions.
