Research Interests

Bradley E.S. Fogel鈥檚 scholarly work focuses on wills, trusts and estate planning as well as the federal estate and gift tax. He has written extensively on the estate planning aspects of subjects as diverse as testamentary capacity, legal malpractice in the estate planning context, Medicaid, constitutional law, the federal gift tax annual exclusion, state income taxes and gifts to minors.

Honors and Awards

Fogel is a past recipient of the Saint Louis University Faculty Excellence Award and has previously been elected Teacher of the Year by SLU LAW students

Professional Organizations and Associations

Fogel is an academic fellow of the American College of Trusts & Estates Counsel. He is also a member of the Missouri Bar Committee on Trust Law Revisions which revised the Uniform Trust Code and successfully sought to have it enacted in Missouri.

Community Work and Service

After law school, he practiced law in New York where he represented high net worth clients in connection with estate and succession planning, as well as small business planning. In his pro bono work, he represented persons with AIDS in connection with their estate planning.

Fogel entered academia as a visiting assistant professor at Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. From there he joined the faculty of SLU LAW in 1999.
