Education

After receiving a B.A. in English from Florida State University, Canfield obtained her J.D. from SLU LAW. While a law student, Canfield researched the 4th, 5th and 6th amendment case law for Roger L. Goldman, in preparation for his book, Federal Criminal Trial Evidence.

Publications and Media Placements

Canfield has written chapters for the Practitioner's Handbooks and presented CLE materials through the Missouri Bar.

Community Work and Service

S. Paige Canfield joined SLU LAW as an assistant professor of legal writing in 2003 and brings more than 23 years of experience focusing on appellate advocacy. Canfield began her professional career as an associate in an Illinois law firm, then as a law clerk for the Honorable David P. McDonald in St. Louis.

Canfield was a Legal Research Attorney for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals Library and an Appellate Public Defender for over eight years. She has also practiced in both a general law firm and as a sole practitioner, where she focused on criminal appeals, post-conviction issues and probate matters.
