Research Interests
Shatto is a tenured associate professor at Saint Louis University and an experienced researcher. She was awarded a $300,000 grant by the Missouri State Board of Nursing (2022) to expand a MSN Clinical Nurse Leader program to help ease the nursing faculty shortage. Much of her research has focused on new nurse transition to practice and new nurse turnover. She has also published on grit and resilience, educational interventions for accelerated students, flipped classroom experiences and teaching Generation Z students.
