12/06/24- Public health senior and president of SLU鈥檚 Student Government Association Reueline Arulanandam offered her perspective on student leadership to more than 2,000 participants at the 2024 Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

11/13/24- Kathleen Gillespie, Ph.D., Mark Gaynor, Ph.D., Nancy Weaver, Ph.D., and Echu Liu, Ph.D. were honored at a breakfast ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Wool Ballroom at the Busch Student Center. At the ceremony, SLU saluted employees who have been at SLU for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years.
11/11/24- A study by researchers at Saint Louis University including CPHSJ alum Alex Zidong Zhang, PhD, MPH, MS (Ph.D. '21; MPH '15), and co-author Kimberly Enard, Ph.D., shows that only one in eight patients with heart failure in the United States receive palliative care consultations within five years of diagnosis.
11/06/24- After more than a year of work behind the scenes, the first phase of the refresh is scheduled to launch Wednesday, Nov. 13. On that day, visitors to SLU.edu will see a brand new homepage complete with new headers, footers, fonts and colors.

10/16/24- The Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice has named Kelly Lane-deGraaf, Ph.D. as the Associate Dean in Academic Affairs as well as an associate professor in Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases.
10/15/24- The 'Research Roundup' is a collection of recently published faculty research, faculty featured in the news as expert sources, and professional achievements.
09/30/24- A red-tailed hawk is now soaring through St. Louis again thanks to the quick action of a SLU maintenance worker.
09/19/24- The Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice has named Qiang Pu, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Behavioral Science and Health Equity.

08/29/24- Student Government Association President Reueline Arulanandan, a senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in public health, welcomed her new classmates. The SLU senior reflected on her start at SLU and shared a message to new Billikens that the start of college can be a time of questioning and doubt.
08/26/24- Saint Louis University鈥檚 College for Public Health and Social Justice will begin offering the new health management minor, requiring just 18 credits to completion.

08/13/24- Brett Moorehouse (MHA 鈥96) is the Senior Vice President of Membership Services for the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) - a more than 100 year old not-for-profit member association which represents every acute care hospital in the state.
08/08/24- Allison Kemner ('08), a Saint Louis University graduate and Senior Vice President & Chief Research Officer at Parents as Teachers National Center recently did a Q&A with the Office of Public Health Practice about public health and learning at SLU.
07/24/24- 鈥淔ood is a basic building block for health and human flourishing,鈥 said Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., interim vice president for research. 鈥淭he Office of the Vice President for Research is proud to promote and support research teams addressing food insecurity in St. Louis and around the world.鈥
07/22/24- In a bid to jump-start the campaign against HIV in the region, Saint Louis University, in partnership with Washington University School of Medicine, will establish the Midwest Developmental Center for AIDS Research with funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
07/17/24- Target has announced that its newest St. Louis store, located near the Saint Louis University campus, will officially open on Sunday, July 21.
07/12/24- Accelerated MHA student Lejla Hamidovic is determined to improve the delivery of care and impact patient outcomes on a large scale.
07/08/24- Hong Xian, Ph.D., professor of biostatistics and global health, and Zhengmin Qian, Ph.D., M.D., professor of epidemiology and biostatistics were listed as SLU researchers cited by Research.com as some of the most-cited researchers in their fields.
07/01/24- Saint Louis University Master of Health Administration alumna, Michaila Dix (2022), is now an Operations Manager in the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.
06/14/24- Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., professor of behavioral science and health equity in the College for Public Health and Social Justice (CPHSJ), will serve as Saint Louis University's interim vice president for research effective June 17, 2024.
06/11/24- Saint Louis University (SLU) and SSM Health are joining the National Institutes of Health鈥檚 (NIH) All of Us Research Program, a historic effort to collect and study data from one million or more people who reflect the diversity of the United States with the goal of elevating the health of all.

05/21/24- Everest Cafe, owned and operated by SLU alumni Devi Gurung States, Ph.D. serves a blend of Nepalese, Indian, and Korean food to visitors from around the world, students from one of the many nearby Universities, and locals.
05/20/24- Saint Louis University recently named Laura S. Kaiser, FACHE ('82, '85) as an Alumni Merit Award winner. Having earned master鈥檚 degrees in business administration and health care administration from Saint Louis University, Kaiser is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been named one of the 鈥100 Most Influential People in Healthcare鈥 by Modern Healthcare magazine for the past six years.
05/08/24- Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., Professor, Behavioral Science and Health Equity was one of the five women selected to receive the award. At the ceremony, the 2024 Mary A. Bruemmer Award Honorees were recognized and celebrated. The Women鈥檚 Commission has recognized outstanding women with its Women of the Year honors since 1977. The awards are named after the inaugural winner, Mary Bruemmer.
05/07/24- The 17th annual Senior Legacy Symposium took place on Tuesday, April 30, in the Busch Student Center. This event featured the work of more than 200 students and over 50 academic departments and programs. CPHSJ students featured included Thejasvi Dhanireddy, Christopher Hopwood, Avi Bhavsar, Jacob Tan, Karina Konshin, Spencer Shreve, Aarti Sahai, Arjun Sahai, and Lily Wilkins.
04/29/24- Beginning with the Fall 2024 term, Saint Louis University鈥檚 MPH Program will require just 42 credit hours to complete rather than the current requirement of 48 (or 54 for joint concentrations).
04/18/24- Harnishad Kaur Binner, a second-year student in the Master of Public Health program recently participated in the 鈥楥ampus Ministry Spring Break Immersion Program鈥 along with other Saint Louis University students.
04/15/24- This March, College for Public Health and Social Justice student Reueline Arulanandam was elected to be the next Saint Louis University Student Government Association (SGA) President. Arulanandam, a junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in public health, previously held a senate seat in SGA representing CPHSJ. 聽聽
04/11/24- Matt VanNatta ('15) Saint Louis University graduate and Senior Implementation Consultant at Strata Decision Technology recently did a Q&A with the Office of Public Health Practice about public health and learning at SLU.
04/05/24- Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., (Behavioral Science and Health Education), will receive the Health Resources and Services Administration award for her work to facilitate the renovation the Wool Center. Saint Louis University鈥檚 Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) will honor the work of faculty members, research staff, and graduate students at its annual Scholarly Works and Grant Winners reception on Friday, April 5.

03/25/24- For the fifth straight year, Saint Louis University has been named as a top workplace for women by the Women鈥檚 Foundation of Greater St. Louis (WFSTL). The foundation announced honorees for its seventh annual 鈥淲omen in the Workplace: Employment Scorecard鈥 on March 12.
03/20/24- The College for Public Health and Social Justice's Ellen Barnidge, Ph.D., Professor, Behavioral Science and Health Equity was named a 2024 honoree. The Women鈥檚 Commission will host the 47th annual Mary A. Bruemmer Recognition Ceremony and Luncheon on Monday, May 6, in the Wool Ballroom of Busch Student Center.
