Saint Louis University School of Science and Engineering Welcomes New Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department
Saint Louis University’s School of Science and Engineering (SSE) is pleased to announce that Sahin K. Ozdemir, Ph.D., will join as Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Ozdemir, a globally recognized leader in the fields of optics and quantum science and technologies, brings decades of academic and research experience to Saint Louis University. His extensive work on quantum optics, non-Hermitian physics and micro/nano-photonics has positioned him as a thought leader in these rapidly evolving fields. Prior to joining SLU, Ozdemir was a professor at Pennsylvania State University and held various academic roles at Washington University in St. Louis, Osaka University, Japan,​ and The Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Japan. Ozdemir is a fellow of Optica and the Institute of Physics (IOP) and a senior member of IEEE.
