What is "Semana de la Ciencia" in Spain?

Saint Louis University 鈥� Madrid Campus proudly hosts some of the 500 activities around the Madrid Province that promote science and technology to the general public.
The 23rd annual edition of Semana de la Ciencia y la Innovaci贸n 2023 (Science and Innovation Week 2023, in English) started on Nov. 6 and will run through Nov. 19. Although coined "science week," it is a two-week long event. Open houses, movie showings, workshops, exhibits and conferences promote scientific topics to those of all ages and educational backgrounds.
Around 200 museums, nonprofit organizations and schools 鈥� including SLU-Madrid 鈥� are partaking in the Madrid government-backed program this year. SLU-Madrid has participated in previous editions.
Madrid's Direcci贸n General de Patrimonio Cultural (Cultural Heritage Administration) organizes activities through Fundaci贸n para el Conocimiento madri+d (Knowledge Foundation Madri+d), a research foundation based in the Spanish capital, on the same block as SLU-Madrid's Manresa Hall.
SLU-Madrid faculty presented the following lectures:

- H茅ctor Barrio: "Inteligencia Artificial: de la investigaci贸n b谩sica a los productos."
- Charles El Mir, Ph.D.: "Engineering Smart Devices: An Introduction to Arduino."
- Tania de la Fuente, Ph.D.: "驴Te gustar铆a visitar un laboratorio de qu铆mica? Ven y extraeremos la te铆na del t茅."
- Jorge Mart铆nez: "Aplicaciones de Machine Learning con Python."
- Francisco Prieto, Ph.D.: "Actividad sobre 贸ptica: la naturaleza de la luz."
- Iv谩n S谩nchez, Ph.D.: "No todo son emisiones de gases: las causas menos conocidas del cambio clim谩tico y sus consecuencias ambientales."
