Capstone students recently visited Advantere School of Management to discuss how they can put their skills to work in careers in human resources.
SLU-Madrid's psychology capstone is the final project psychology majors present before graudation. The three-credit course focuses on critical thinking in psychology.
"Advantere and SLU-Madrid share a common vision for our students: we aim to educate future leaders who will promote social justice through innovative and impactful work," said Laurie Mazzuca, Ph.D., SLU-Madrid vice rector and psychology professor. "Today's encounter represents the beginning of what I hope to be a long-standing and productive relationship between our institutions."
Advantere is a management school in Madrid that is rooted in the framework of the Society of Jesus.
Pedro César MartÃnez Moran, Ph.D., introduced SLU-Madrid students to Advantere's master's degree in talent management, a possible path in Spain for psychology majors from the American higher education system.
He prepared an hour-long sample lecture that covered cultural diversity in the workplace, employee well-being and the use of technologies like AI.
"SLU-Madrid psychology students not only had the opportunity to explore future educational and career possibilities, but they also had the good fortune to learn from leaders in the field of talent management like Dr. MartÃnez and his colleagues. It was a wonderful experience, and I think they are already looking forward to their next 'taster class,'" said Mazzuca.
