Sports Medicine
The Saint Louis University School of Medicine sports medicine section is dedicated to getting patients safely back in the game or to their desired level of function.
The sports medicine section has a team of non-operative and operative providers and access to the entire Saint Louis University team of multidisciplinary physicians. The section includes the team physicians of as well as many other area colleges and high schools. Our sports medicine doctors take care of athletes and patients of all ages including pediatric and adult patients.
As residents in the sports medicine section, you will be exposed to advanced imaging and surgical equipment for state of the art procedures in the clinic and the operating room. Some of the procedures doctors in the sports medicine section perform include minimally invasive arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle, as well as ultrasound-guided biologic regenerative procedures in our clinic.
We work closely with the Saint Louis University-SSM Health physical therapy program to provide the most up-to-date evidence-based physical therapy rehabilitation protocols to guide injury recovery.
We are an academic institution, and actively pursue academic research at the forefront of sports medicine. We are committed to providing the highest standard of education for our medical students and residents with our regular conferences, lectures and clinical rotations.
