  • Reviewing major equipment requisitions
  • Administration of the internal study section
  • Administration of the Presidential Research Fund
  • Administration of the Research Opportunity Fund

All meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month except for the November and December meetings.

Funding Opportunities

President's Research Fund

The President’s Research Fund (PRF) supports projects with a strong potential for obtaining external funding for SLU investigators.

The RPC administers a single PRF cycle for the School of Medicine (SOM) with a January deadline and a May start date. The maximum award term is 13 months.

SOM Research Opportunity Fund

The Research Opportunity Fund (ROF) aims to provide rapid funding for SOM researchers, with several areas of support.

Applicants can be non-tenure track, tenure-track or tenured faculty in the SOM. However, faculty mentors may submit applications on behalf of research fellows or trainees with proper explanations of the circumstances.

Reviewers of these applications will use guidelines similar to the NIH scoring system 1-9.
