On-Campus Transportation

Saint Louis University offers a wide variety of transportation options, including a shuttle service and safe escorts, to help you get around campus.

Bicycles

Bike racks are available throughout campus. Bikes can be registered through the Department of Public Safety. Changing and showering facilities are available to bicycle commuters at Simon Recreation Center, the Salus Fitness Center and Doisy Research Center; a SLU ID is required. Shuttle Service 

SLU鈥檚 shuttles provide transportation on campus and points around St. Louis in a safe and time颅 efficient way. The service is available to students, faculty and staff, as well as SLU visitors. For more information about shuttles, visit the SLU shuttles page.

SLU Ride

Assistance can be provided to University buildings on campus as bordered by Washington Boulevard, Compton Avenue, Shaw Boulevard and Vandeventer Avenue.

Use the SLU Ride app or request a ride online. Current SLU Ride hours are:

  • Monday through Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Thursday, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Friday, 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.
  • Sunday, 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Outside of SLU Ride hours, the Department of Public Safety can provide safety escorts. To request a safety escort, call 314-977-3000.

Van Rental

Saint Louis University's Department of Transportation Services coordinates the rental of University vans to assist the transportation needs of faculty, staff, students and SLU organizations conducting official University business. For more information about van rental, visit the Van Rental page.

University-owned Golf Cart/Utility Vehicles

All golf carts/utility vehicles must be registered with Parking, Card and Transportation Services and must display an official University vehicle number to operate or park on campus.

Golf Cart/Utility Vehicle Usage Rules and Regulations

Saint Louis University strives to provide a safe environment for all students, vendors, employees and guests.

The purpose of these rules and regulations is to provide governing procedures on the use and operation of non-licensed powered carts so that University-owned or contractor-owned non-licensed equipment (including but not limited to: golf cart-type vehicles, lawn mowers and utility vehicles) are operated in a safe manner to prevent injuries to personnel and property.

Golf Cart/Utility Vehicle Training

Saint Louis University Risk Management has implemented a training program for golf cart/utility vehicle safety. This online course is required by anyone who operates a golf cart/utility vehicle on campus and must be passed prior to operating.
