Director Steven Rogers, Ph.D.

Steven Rogers, Ph.D., associate professor of political science in the College of Arts and Sciences, is the SLU/YouGov Poll director. Rogers received his Ph.D. in Politics from Princeton University. Rogers' research focuses on elections, particularly at the state level. His in-progress book manuscript addresses the question, “Do elections hold state legislators accountable for their own performance?” Rogers’ research has appeared in top disciplinary journals such as the American Political Science Review and the American Journal of Political Science. Before joining Saint Louis University, Rogers was a post-doctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University, where he contributed to the Vanderbilt Poll. 

Associate Director Kenneth Warren, Ph.D.

Ken Warren, Ph.D., received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has over 30 years of professional polling experience. Warren is the author of several publications in the area of electoral behavior and public opinion research, including "In Defense of Public Opinion Polling" (Westview, 2001) and "Encyclopedia of U.S. Campaigns, Elections, and Electoral Behavior, Vols 1 and 2" (Sage, 2008), as general editor and contributor, and "Public Opinion Polls" (Wiley StatRef, 2014), among others.

Associate Director Ashley Burle, Ph.D.

Ashley Burle, Ph.D., is the interim director of graduate admissions for the School of Education and an Associate Director of the SLU/YouGov Poll. Burle received her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Saint Louis University and worked for over four years at the Policy Research in Missouri Education (PRiME) Center. She authored numerous applied research publications focused on aiding Missouri education stakeholders in making informed, data-driven decisions. Her research interests include education policy and postsecondary education access, progress, and success. Burle was an assistant director in the Division of Student Affairs at Texas A&M University before joining Saint Louis University in 2018.

Executive Sponsor Gary Ritter, Ph.D.

Gary W. Ritter, Ph.D., is a professor and dean of the School of Education at Saint Louis University. Since becoming dean in 2018, Ritter has focused on growing programs that are evidence-based, academically rigorous, and of direct service to the St. Louis region. Ritter was a faculty member in education policy at the University of Arkansas from 2000-18. He has published over 100 articles, books, book chapters, and working papers on teacher quality, teacher evaluation, postsecondary access for low-income students, and implementing and evaluating programs to improve educational outcomes for low-income students.
