Accessing Your Military Education Benefits

Where can I apply for VA benefits?

The Office of the University Registrar acts as a liaison between SLU veterans and the . While you will apply for benefits through the VA, the registrar鈥檚 office can help you with paperwork, procedures and certification of enrollment.

What do I need to access VA benefits at Saint Louis University?

All veterans and their dependents must provide their own Certificate of Eligibility and complete a Veterans Benefits Registration Form for each term they wish to receive benefits. Contact Leonard Dollenga at 314-977-2267 or leonard.dollenga@slu.edu to receive a Veterans Benefits Registration Form.

I鈥檝e applied for benefits, but I don鈥檛 have my Certificate of Eligibility yet. What do I do?

A copy of the application will be accepted until the Certificate of Eligibility is received.

How much can I expect to pay to attend SLU?

Does SLU offer any military scholarships or discounts?

The School for Professional Studies offers some scholarship opportunities to qualified undergraduate students, as well as merit-based scholarships. The Office of Student Financial Services offers a range of financial aid programs including: need-based grants, loan programs, work opportunities and merit-based scholarships for eligible students at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.

What is the Yellow Ribbon Program?

provides additional financial aid, beyond the costs covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill庐, to eligible veterans attending a participating institution of higher education. At SLU, this could be up to 50 percent of remaining tuition costs for up to 85 veterans.

Where can I apply for the Yellow Ribbon Program?
When Saint Louis University is accepting applicants for the Yellow Ribbon Program, the application is available online. For more information about the Yellow Ribbon Program, contact Leonard Dollenga at 314-977-2267 or leonard.dollenga@slu.edu.

Does SLU offer counseling services?
The University Counseling Center has staff on call 24 hours a day and at 314-977-2323. They can help with any mental health concerns, including relationship problems, adjustment to college life, coping with loneliness or any other issues.

Where can I find health care?

SLU鈥檚 Student Health Center provides medical treatment, outpatient services and a variety of educational programs for all Saint Louis University full-time, part-time and graduate students.
