Undergraduate Students
The Chaifetz School of Business is dedicated to guiding our undergraduates to success, both now and after graduation. The Career Resources Center is here to help you start your self-exploration process related to your professional development. To help undergraduates define and achieve their career goals, the CRC offers a range of student support services.
CRC staff are available to assist you throughout your program. Through personal appointments, CRC staff can assist you with:
- Deciding on your business school major
- Building your resume with on-campus activities and volunteer work
- Internship search and preparation
- Networking planning and preparation
- Job search and interview preparation
CRC staff are currently hosting one-on-one meetings with students virtually. Schedule a meeting with a staff member using using the following steps:

Every undergraduate business student will complete the Career Foundations course, designed to teach and develop the skills necessary for students to:
- Identify and select an appropriate business major and career path
- Market themselves confidently to build relationships, secure an internship and obtain a post-graduation position
- Grow personally and professionally through self-reflection and experiential learning
Through online modules, experiential classes, event attendance and assignments, students will proactively build their career readiness and graduate with the skills for lifelong career development.
Internships are work or service experiences related to a student’s major or career goal. Internships allow a student to work in a professional setting under the supervision of practicing professionals. Internships can be paid or unpaid, and the student may receive academic credit. Completing an internship is one of the best career development experiences for an undergraduate student before graduation.
Steps to secure and complete an internship:
- Meet with the CRC internship coordinator to discuss internship goals and opportunities. To schedule an appointment with the internship coordinator, go to Navigate 360 on your MySLU Tools page.
- Respond to employer internship postings or contact employers directly to see if they have an internship opportunity.
- Confer with your assigned faculty sponsor.
- Formulate an agreement with the internship site supervisor regarding work objectives and performance expectations once you have received an internship offer.
- Complete 120 hours total over the semester.
- Earn up to three hours of credit when internships are formalized through the internship coordinator.
