04/26/24- The story of how a person with blindness changed the course of a SLU researcher's career.
03/08/24- "What does it mean to be a preeminent Jesuit research university?" For this reflection piece, I was asked to focus on the meaning of "Jesuit" in that question. "Jesuit," however, entails "Catholic," so my reflections will focus on that word, as well. Ultimately, "Catholic" is more important than "Jesuit." Saint Louis University could stop being a Jesuit university and remain a Catholic one; it could not do the opposite.
11/29/23- When I arrived at Saint Louis University in 2014, I wasn鈥檛 sure what to expect from my first faculty position after graduate school. After completing years of training as a historian in California and research in Europe and North Africa, St. Louis was a new city, in a new part of the country. And SLU was a Jesuit university.
11/01/23- When I joined Saint Louis University as vice president for research in 2016, our collective goal was to grow our research to generate momentum that would propel SLU into the ranks of the nation鈥檚 top private research universities. Now, seven years later, we have accomplished a lot!
